Check the hose for hidden blockages
Test the wand / pipe for restrictions
Work out if the blockage is in the floor head
Rule out a blockage completely before moving on
This video helps you find where the problem is, without forcing anything through the hose or risking damage.
If your Shark passes every part of this test and still has poor suction, the issue usually isn’t a blockage — it’s the filters. Shark filters should be cleaned every 1–3 months depending on the model.
