In this video we show you how you can connect Orchestra's MCP to AI Tools such as Cursor and how you can leverage the MCP to debug data pipeline issues instantly.
How to connect the Orchestra MCP to cursor
The Orchestra MCP Server is simply a local server you can run on your computer and can be configured with Agent Tools like Cursor or Claude to easily run on your computer. Frameworks like Claude handle all the running of the server too, so you don't even need to do that. Gary (with his slick new haircut!) walks us through.
Why Connect the Orchestra MCP Server?
Orchestra is a platform for easily building, running and maintaining your AI and Data WOrkflows. It has context of all your metadata already - meaning your code repos, data lineage, data tables, pipelines runs, and so on.
Even when a truly modular architecture is used, for example using Fivetran, dbt Cloud and Power BI, Orchestra fetches the underlying data from all the underlying platforms (including the warehouse) so it has all the context.
Asking Orchestra "Why a Pipeline Failed and how can I fix it" is its speciality. With all the metadata in one place, the MCP allows you to easily fix and debug data pipelines.
