First of all, let us praise and thanks to Allah swt who has given us the mercies and blessing

Shalawat and salam always being delivered to our Prophet Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from the darkness into the brightness in this path of the life.

ladies and gentlemen
I am Aulia Putri Dwikson from SMA NEGERI SUMATERA SELATAN will deliver a speech with the theme "Building Moderate Minds and Green Awareness through Religious Education"

Ladies and gentlemen
As long as we live, we have been greatly facilitated in fulfilling our basic needs by the environment, such as water, air, soil, light, and others. As rational beings, we must care for the environment and utilize it wisely.
However, there is currently a lot of damage occurring on earth. This has been explained in QS Ar-Rum verse 41.

ظَهَرَ الْفَسَادُ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِي النَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُمْ بَعْضَ الَّذِي عَمِلُوا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Zoharulfasadu fiilbarri walbahri bimaa kasabat aydinnaasi liyujiuqohum ba'dollaziy a'miluw laallahum yar Jiuwn


(“Damage has been seen on land and at sea caused by human actions.”)
Humans often do not care about the environment and destroy it for the sake of their selfishness. This damage can occur because people litter, spread pollution indiscriminately, causing damage everywhere, polluting rivers, polluting the air everywhere, making the earth hotter, and causing violent floods to hit homes. Yet the environment is God's best creation for humans.

From this verse, we also know that religious education plays a very important role for all of us in developing a moderate mindset and environmental awareness. Of course, with religious education in schools and various other places, many people can be shaped to care more about the environment. Indeed, Allah also loves His servants who love the environment.

The benefit of moderate thinking means that we must think and take a middle path, be balanced, not fanatical, and not selfish.
An example of moderate thinking is Balance (Mizan): Emphasizing the importance of maintaining the balance of the ecosystem (mizan) created by God with various specific functions and not destroying it.

Of course, it is not only Islamic education that teaches us to protect nature, but all religions teach this as well.

Simple examples of protecting the environment include:
Not littering.
Conserving water.
Not cutting down trees indiscriminately.
Using energy wisely.
Reducing air and water pollution.
And many more.
Ladies and gentlemen,

So we can conclude from this that let us make religious education our guide in life, take action to protect the environment, always think moderately, and discard our selfishness.


Because, in truth, loving the environment means loving God's creation.



That concludes my speech. I hope that you will take my words as motivation to utilize religious education in thinking about and protecting the environment. Thank you for your attention, and I apologize if I have made any mistakes in my speech.
