Tracks 4 & 5 from their first and only album "Grinding Stone" released in 1973 copyright CBS Records. It was recorded in London and was produced by Martin Birch, who went on to become famous for being the engineer and producer on many Deep Purple albums. Gary Moore was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland and like his fellow Irishman and friend Rory Gallagher, he found success in Europe and the U.K. but was mostly unknown in North America. He moved to Dublin, Ireland in 1968 and avoided "the Troubles" which became the name for the civil unrest and violence that began to escalate in his home country of Northern Ireland over the desire to become independent from the United Kingdom. His first musical influence came from his father's Elvis Presley and Beatles albums, which led to his discovery of the great American bluesmen and he was hooked. He became a disciple of guitarists Peter Green and Eric Clapton when they were both members of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. He joined the Irish band Skid Row in 1970, which featured Phil Lynott on lead vocals and bass, and recorded two albums with them. After their second release they played some dates as the opening act for the Allman Brothers Band and Mountain. This album clearly shows the influence Duane Allman had on Moore which is evident on several songs and most notably in his slide guitar playing. After leaving Skid Row he joined Phil Lynott in his new band Thin Lizzy on their 1974 tour but left that same year after becoming dismayed by the band's increasing drug use which affected their performances. This album was his first attempt at launching a solo career but although it received above average reviews it wasn't commercially successful and didn't chart. He would disband the Gary Moore Band and return for a couple more brief stints in Thin Lizzy before releasing "Back on the Streets," his first successful solo album, in 1978. Written by Gary Moore and produced by Martin Birch. RIP Gary Moore, Philip Donnelly & Martin Birch. Featuring:

I need you to show me the way
"Can you help me?" is all I can say
I need you to set me on straight
Help me now before it's too late
(Come along) I'll give you your directions
(Hard to try) but nothin' I see
Or is it just a subtle reflection
Of what I am or am destined to be?
I need you to set me on straight
Help me now before it's too late
I need you to show me the way
"Can you help me?" is all I can say
Well (come along) I'll give you your directions
(Hard to try) but nothin' I see
Or is it just a subtle reflection
Of what I am or am destined to be?
I need you to show me the way
"Can you help me?" is all I can say
I need you to set me on straight
Help me now before it's too late
Come along, I'll give you your directions
Hard to try, but nothin' I see
Or is it just a subtle reflection
Of what I am or am destined to be?
