RAZER Project Hazel is the Smart Mask We Needed Months Ago (CES 2021)

And as a gaming and eSports company manufacturing everything from notebooks to gaming mice, we weren't exactly surprised when their smart mask, codenamed Project Hazel, made it's way to CES 2021. And you know what? We're kind of loving it.

While we could have totally used one of these shortly after last year's CES, RAZER has managed to make masks both techy and somehow cool. Project Hazel integrates a transparent shield that allows the wearer to emote, which is a problem with cloth masks. The mask appears to be well sealed around the nose, solving the fogging problem that glass wearers experience. The ear hooks also seem to be moulded using some kind of silicone for a comfortable fit.

What makes the mask extraordinary is a lot of very cool things. Besides the built-in RGB LED lighting encircling the active respirator units that filter 95% of airborne particles, the respirators themselves are actually speakers that help amplify your voice, reducing the 'Charlie Brown' effect plaguing other masks. And, when you're done wearing the mask, you can charge it in a special case that not only looks cool, but UV lights sterilize the whole thing till you need it again.

This was the mask we needed months ago. But how much longer will we have to wait?
