Pamplona (in Basque and cooficialmente Iruña , according Euskaltzaindia Iruñea )  is a municipality and city Spanish capital of the Comunidad Foral de Navarra .

Among its most representative monuments are the Cathedral of Santa María , the Church of San Saturnino , the Church of San Nicolás , the Citadel or the Chamber of Comptos , all of them declared a Site of Cultural Interest . 

It is the financial and commercial center of Navarra, in addition to also constituting the administrative center of the community because it is the headquarters of the institutions of the autonomous administration and the territorial administration of the State. It is also an important nucleus of industrial activity, specialized in the production of construction materials, metallurgy, paper and graphic arts and meat processing. The Volkswagen car company , located in the Landaben industrial estate , is the industrial factory that generates the most jobs in the Pamplona basin, with an approximate workforce of 5,000 workers in 2009 .
