Parts of the Stanhopea lip are:
Hypochile: upper part with sac that contains the fragrance
Mesochile: in between hypochile and epichile. The connection to the hypochile is called the "knee"
Horns: guide the bee towards the hypochile
Epichile: the lower part where the bee lands
Column across from the rest
PS: This is the American spelling. In British English, the final "E" is dropped: hypochil, mesochil, epichil
PS: the 9 so called "primitive" species (tricornis, candida, reichenbachiana, grandiflora, pulla, ecornuta, cirrhata, annulata, avicula) have a less elaborate lip
