Advice for prospective math researchers | Matrices: which exact algorithms should you know?

Описание: Algorithms with matrices are at the heart of linear algebra, and are a key resource for prospective research mathematicians, including amateurs. But in fact there is a big distinction in the world of matrix algorithms that is usually finessed, that we want you to be very aware of. That is the distinction between exact and approximate algorithms.

This understanding will position you better to make fruitful investigations into the pure side of mathematics -- as the exact algorithms are much more convenient for theoretical analysis.

In this video we use the framework of Scientific Workplace to peruse a wide variety of matrix algorithms and give a brief introduction to each, before putting them in the exact or pure boxes.
