If Your Knee Hurts While Running
Sometimes knee pain can strike during a run or even in the middle of a race. These tips are temporary solutions to help you manage the pain in the moment, but they won’t address the root cause of the problem. Weak muscles are often the primary culprit, so it’s essential to include strengthening exercises in your training routine.
Here are a few ways to relieve the pain during your run:
1️⃣ Shake out your leg – Do this with a good range of motion, as shown in the video. It helps relax the muscles and reduce tension.
2️⃣ Knee extension with foot rotation – Extend your leg and gently rotate your foot to the right and left.
3️⃣ Stretch your quads – Stretch the front of your thigh to relieve pressure on your knee joint.
These techniques can help you get through the moment, especially during a crucial race. But remember, strengthening your muscles is the key to preventing knee pain in the long term.
