Dean and Cas - Ordinary

Hi, it's been a few years but here I am with a Destiel video.

The song is going viral everywhere and I immediately thought of Dean and Cas when I heard the song. HUGE thanks to my friend Max who helped me with finding the right scenes and is always listening to my destiel thoughts!

I wanted to share a few thoughts I had about the song in general:

A friend interpreted the following lines as follows:

I want you laying me down until we are dead and buried - I want to be with you until we die

On the edge of your knife: Just how dangerous and intense the relationship it. -- Yes, we have literal knife scenes with Dean and Cas but the scenes I used also show how intense the relationship is because even though they weren't themselves (Naomi's influence and Mark of Cain) they couldn't kill the other. I don't think feelings can be more intense than that.

Staying drunk on your vine - The person’s love is so intense it’s intoxicating.
It was hard to find the right scenes for these words, but I tried.

Here are a few general thoughts from my side:

It fits wonderfully with the two of them because nothing about them is ordinary. Castiel's love for Dean is literally stronger than God's will (Chuck himself said that Cas never followed what he was supposed to do). Cas was actually never meant to be a part of the story after the S4 finale. Cas just threw out all the rules for Dean. And Dean? Dean never had real friends. Sam doesn’t count as a friend to me because he’s his brother, but then Cas came into Dean’s life, and for the first time, there’s someone who truly sees him, who trusts him, and vice versa. Dean is absolutely not a fan of physical contact, and with Cas, he throws all of that out the window. He also hates having emotional conversations more than anything. For me personally, that makes 15x18 even more intense because he stood there and listened to everything, even telling Chuck later that he’s not a killer. Like, hello? Dean worked on seeing himself in a more positive light for Cas (we’ll just ignore the ending of the series. Thanks).
