Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary

Описание: We continue the journey on archiving Kingdom Hearts in chronological order. The game also recently was released with a Steam PC version so its the perfect time! Today we have the one game that many fans have overlooked as the original was released on the Gameboy Advance. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories immediately continues after the ending of Kingdom Hearts as Sora, Goofy and Donald follow Pluto and head into a mysterious castle known as Castle Oblivion.
Here they will slowly lose their memories and relive their adventures from the first game. Because of that it does feel like 80% of the game is unfortunately filler story and only the last two hours or so are really important. But the irony is that they are so important that if you were to skip them, then you would be very confused about the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2.
I actually also skipped Chain of Memories on the GBA back in the day and the beginning of KH2 definitely made me raise an eyebrow or two. But luckily many years later I could experience the story in a 3D remake that uses the same engine and assets as the first Kingdom Hearts game.
Now the big twist is that this game revolves around a card battle system. Throughout the game you collect different cards with attack values, magic spells and items and you use those cards during each confrontation. Though I will say that the card rules themselves are quite well made and offer plenty of strategy, it was not my cup of tea at all. Many times during the game I wish that the remake would utilize the regular combat system instead of this, but the story and its characters made me pull through in the end. I also therefore hope that this archived video will offer that oppertunity to viewers who have the same opinion on the card system.
All in all it was a fun time, but I don't think this will be a Kingdom Hearts game that I will revisit any time soon in the future. And with that now finally archived, its time for the next chapter which is 358/2 days.
