She is daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar. The title track, “Jai Santoshi Maa” helped her to earn a Filmfare nomination too. She has won Bengal Films-Journalism Association awards for the title track of “Jai Santoshi Maa”. She has sung a few songs along with her elder sisters. Due to early death of father during her childhood and bad financial situations, she had a struggled childhood.
