This is a large and heavy (391 grams) duty clamp kit with 120mm long quick release plate. This guy is for serious cameras (or telescopes?) that are heavy.
When you set the plate down into the auto-locking clamp, you need to make sure that the non-clamp side goes down first, as the spring lock is very aggressive and as soon as you touch the trigger peg with the bottom of the QR plate it will SNAP shut and lock the plate into place (or throw the other side away if it isn't already below the edge of the clamp....)
There is a thumb grip point to allow you to release the plate one-handed, and a secondary lock slide that will allow the plate to slide forward & backwards but keep it from pulling out. There is a small toggle switch on the clamp that switches between locking "Standard" and "RS2/RS3" style QR plates.
The bottom has a 3/8" tripod socket and also includes a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter per-installed, plus additional screw holes for mounting. The QR plate also includes 3/8 and 1/4 screws, and you pick which to use.
