Installing a Xantrex ECHO-Charge for Chassis Battery Charging + Victron Smart Shunt Battery Monitor

Описание: Today I'm installing a Xantrex ECHO-Charge and a Victron Smart Shunt on a 2023 Leisure Travel Vans Unity. The Xantrex ECHO-Charge is a great device to keep your chassis battery charged from the same charging sources that are keeping your house batteries charged. Meaning the Xantrex ECHO-Charge uses the house 12vdc battery charging systems to charge the 12vdc chassis battery. So whenever the house battery is being charged by solar or the inverter battery charger, that higher charging voltage input triggers the Xantrex ECHO-Charge to charge the chassis battery as well.

The Victron Smart Shunt Battery monitor is a must have for all year and model Leisure Travel Vans with their stock, Flooded Wet Cell, AGM, or Lithium batteries. A Victron Smart Shunt is basically a fuel guage for your batteries, giving you accurate battery information so you know exactly what your house battery status is at any given moment. In this video I add a chassis battery connection to the Victron Smart Shunt so the chassis battery voltage can be monitored as well. Ensuring that your chassis battery is always charged and having an easy way to monitor its voltage is always important but commonly overlooked. Being able to monitor the chassis battery removes any worries about the ability of the chassis battery to start the engine.

Adding a Xantrex ECHO-Charge chassis battery charger and a Victron Smart Shunt to the house batteries gives you a complete battery charging system, as well as a way to monitor the batteries for all the batteries in your LTV. These are 2 things that LTV should already be installing to reduce problems for their LTV Owners.

Note: If you have a alternator charging DC-DC house battery charger installed without an ignition controlled Isolator Relay on the chassis battery wire (late 2019- early 2021 LTVs or aftermarket DC-DC charger installations), then you need to add this, https://www.amazon.com/Heavy-Duty-Rel....
