US CENTCOM Releases Footage of Strike on Iranian Tankers | N18G

Описание: The United States Central Command released footage it said showed U.S. forces targeting two Iranian-linked tankers in the Gulf of Oman. According to CENTCOM, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet launched from the USS George H.W. Bush disabled the M/T Sea Star III and M/T Sevda by striking their smokestacks with precision munitions to prevent the vessels from reaching an Iranian port.

Iranian media condemned the incident as an attack on civilian vessels near the coast of Jask on May 7, while CENTCOM listed the operation as taking place on May 8. Iranian outlet Mehr News reported that local rescue teams and fishermen helped save all crew members and passengers from the water.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi later criticised U.S. military actions, saying Washington chooses “reckless military adventure” whenever diplomatic solutions are possible.
