Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced a halt to emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine as the first “reciprocal measure” in the ongoing dispute over the Druzhba oil pipeline.
Fico cited political pressure and disruptions to Slovakia’s energy and financial interests, warning that further measures could follow if the situation persists.
Fico stressed Slovakia’s support for Ukraine in humanitarian aid and energy assistance but condemned Kyiv’s actions as hostile, calling the halt a necessary response to protect Slovak sovereignty.
