The night of the Winter storm that moved through the area on 2/3/2023. Very high winds and frigid temperatures. The low for the night went all the way down to -6 degrees. Wind speeds as high as 24 MPH were recorded at ground level, which is astronomical. The winds at the top of the trees was likely double that or more, as predicted.
The electricity staid connected and all heating systems operated properly overnight. The living room was still at 75 degrees when I got up this morning. I was impressed with the operation of the heat pump, while it certainly was putting out less heat than usual, it was still providing a considerable amount of heat at 0 degrees.
It is forecasted to remain well below freezing all day today as well as tonight, but the sun is shining strong so the pellet stove can be lowered a bit until dusk.
