Lopez jokes that her uniform still fits, Harper looks horrified and complains she hoped she would never have to deal with the itchy wool uniform again, and Nolan welcomes Miles Penn back to patrol like it is a fresh restart. Penn immediately gripes about the long sleeves, and Nolan shuts it down by reminding him he crashed hard before and the long sleeves are the consequence, a rule he has to live with until he earns the right to wear short sleeves again. Chen is there too, happy to see him returning to the street but sounding like she expects the comeback to be temporary if he slips. Harper tries to find out whether she is riding solo or getting a normal partner assignment, and the answer lands like a punishment—she is being tasked with training Penn.
