Marwell Wildlife, a conservation charity which runs a zoological park in Hampshire, is celebrating the birth of their very first anteater pup.
The pup which has been named 'Rojo' (by fans of their Facebook page / marwellwildlife , was born to first time Mum 'Chiquita'.
The youngster, which weighs just three pounds (the same as a bag of sugar and a tin of beans), was born on 1 November and is going from strength to strength.
Giant anteaters are native to South America and are listed as 'Vulnerable' in the wild. Females normally give birth to one baby at a time, after a gestation period of 190 days.
