I was beyond excited to finally maiden my brand new 90mm F/A-18 Blue Angels jet — something I’ve wanted for a long time. But 30 seconds into the flight, it all went wrong. I had forgotten to set any expo, and the jet was way too twitchy to handle. I made the decision to bring it in early… but the real disaster struck when I deployed the landing flaps. Only one flap came down — the other servo had failed — and the jet spiraled out of control. Even SAFE mode couldn’t recover it.
Just like that… $600 gone in under a minute.
