Wattway, the world’s first ever photovoltaic road surfacing, capable of harvesting solar energy and producing electricity, is now being tested by Colas for different usages on a trial section in western France.
This first trial application involves one of the potential usages of Wattway technology, that of charging electric vehicles. With 42 panels covering a surface area of 50 m², this pilot site is located in the Vendéspace parking lot
and will produce 6,300 kWh/year
This new development phase, led by pioneering customers like the Vendée Département, will provide feedback on Wattway’s functionalities and potentialities both in energetic and economic terms.
