Funded by park bonds overwhelmingly approved by Sunrise voters, the Sunrise Senior Center has now been upgraded to more than 16,000 square feet. For more than 25 years, we have been dedicated to encouraging personal growth, fostering active participation in the community, and helping people achieve and maintain an independent, healthy lifestyle. Our staff and volunteers have organized a fun and varied program calendar for you to enjoy five days a week. Features of our new and improved facility include:
—Chef’s teaching kitchen for culinary demos and hands-on cooking classes
—Upgraded game room with tournament-size billiard tables and darts
—Re-envisioned multipurpose room for events up to 150 people
—Computer training room with state-of-the-art presentation technology
—Workout studio with floating hardwood floors and wall-to-wall mirrors
—Flexible arts & crafts room with sinks and storage for a variety of activities
—Newly enlarged and screened open-air patio with raised garden planters
—New main lobby, comfortable seating, and total wheelchair accessibility
—Extended parking lot and sidewalks connecting the lakefront Sunrise Senior Center to the library, City Hall, and the Sunrise Civic Center
—Safety and security enhancements, plus energy-saving LED lighting, water-saving fixtures, and high-efficiency cooling
