Her Campus. Her Voice. is a new initiative aimed at reshaping the narratives of Black womanhood and girlhood in the media. In such a digital world, Her Campus HU recognizes the pressing issue of young Black women growing up online, curating harsh mindsets about themselves, and creating unrealistic goals and expectations they feel they must reach as they grow.
This initiative is a collaborative effort with many woman-focused organizations on Howard’s campus that will aid us in targeting specific aspects of womanhood and girlhood through shared experiences: youth empowerment, navigating their 20s, learning to love themselves unconditionally, rebuilding confidence, dismantling the “strong Black woman” trope, and more. This is more than a podcast; it’s a time to reshape, heal, and learn.
During this season, we aim to give young Black women a bigger voice than ever. Thank you to our collaborators for making this possible and for helping produce the upcoming impact, and to our team for developing such a powerful way to inspire positive change. We can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store.
