This new patch for No Rest for the Wicked brings a mix of changes, and honestly… it’s a bit of a strange one.
At first glance, the comfort system sounds like a step forward, but once you actually dig into it, it feels like we’re just doing extra work to get the same buffs we already had before. Yes, the values scale higher and last longer, but where are the real build choices? I was expecting something deeper, something that lets us create actual “housing builds” depending on how we decorate. Right now, it feels like a missed opportunity.
Duels, on the other hand, are an absolute blast. Smacking someone with a fish and forcing them into a circle fight is just chaotic fun. But balance? That’s a different story. Some builds, especially tank setups with Thorns, can completely break the experience.
Then we have the Realm Diary, which is a great idea but feels unfinished. There’s so much more data that could be tracked, and right now it barely scratches the surface.
And finally… the nerfs.
A lot of builds took a massive hit. Power scaling got cut down hard, survivability dropped, and the overall feel of combat shifted away from that “invincible build” style. Some of this is actually good, forcing players to engage more with mechanics like dodging and positioning.
But the bow rework?
Yeah… that’s where things go wrong.
Turning bows into a close- to mid-range weapon completely changes the identity of the playstyle. Instead of feeling like a precise ranged fighter, you’re now forced into something closer to a shotgun build. And honestly, it just doesn’t feel right.
This isn’t about hating the game. The game is still amazing. This is just real feedback on what works… and what really doesn’t.
