The tubular cast on is a popular choice for edges that need a clean appearance and plenty of stretch! There are multiple methods, but the most common is the tubular cast on with waste yarn, which we’ll demonstrate here using Swish Worsted yarn [https://www.knitpicks.com/yarn/swish-...]. It uses waste or scrap yarn to provisionally cast on stitches, and then a handful of set up rows are worked. Once those rows are complete, the waste yarn can be snipped away or unpicked to leave a lovely clean edge. Pair it with the tubular bind off to have matching edges.
