For those who want to see the short version compared to the fullsize. When I ordered it, I didn't know what to expect but I assumed the only difference would be blade length. The short is actually a miniaturized version of the fullsize. The short replaces a Buck Outfitter in my camp/fishing gear as the Buck's blade, which is 440stainless, became dulled and knicked under very light wood processing conditions. I bent the tip of my Buck Gamesman when I plunged it into a log. Admittedly, I'm tough on my tools and so I decided to see if the short could stand up to any abuse and I'm very pleased. The blade has the same exact cut of the fullsize, including a fuller (thick part of the blade) of the same width. The abovementioned Bucks may have their purpose (skinning), but as all-around utility blades go, I'm sticking with the Kabar. They hold an edge a lot longer, and though the metal rusts if not oiled, that is the only drawback and is an infinitely tiny one at that.
