Therefore, Birkenmeier was looking for a mobile warehouse management system (WMS), as well as a simple control system for the forklift drivers, which would reduce the time needed to load the produced goods by targeting the pallets in the open area.

The solution: The L-mobile Forklift Guidance System (FGS) in combination with the mobile warehouse management software L-mobile warehouse ready for MS Dynamics. With the help of GPS tracking, individual products and pallets can be retrieved in MS Dynamics NAV in real time with meter precision. Forklift drivers receive digital pick lists on their forklift-mounted terminal, which they can use to perform stock transfers. This enables targeted and fastest possible picking and loading of pallets. In addition, picking is supported by mobile hand-held scanners, which in the end noticeably accelerated the loading process in the goods issue department.

The result: reduced search times, no empty runs, and maximum transparency in the warehouse. An average of 250 bookings with a value of goods of up to €200,000 can now be picked and loaded very efficiently every day, thanks to the mobile warehouse management and the forklift guidance system.
