I had such an energizing and meaningful time joining Bernadette Smith on “5 Things Live." Thank you, Bernadette, for inviting me into a conversation that highlights real progress in DEI, leadership, and belonging. I’m grateful for the space to share my perspective as a proud CODA and inclusive real estate advocate.
In this episode, we dig into five powerful stories of positive change from Deaf athletes breaking records and barriers, to Target improving checkout accessibility, etc.
These stories matter because they remind us that inclusion isn’t abstract. It’s happening. It’s real. And it’s moving forward every single day.
As we explored these headlines, we also talked about what it means to communicate with presence, respect, and humility... lessons I learned growing up in the Deaf community and now carry into my work as a realtor serving Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients.
Listening without hearing isn’t just something my parents modeled; it’s something that continues to shape how I show up in leadership, advocacy, and everyday connection.
As for Bernadette, I’m thankful for her work, her voice, and her commitment to helping people feel safe to be themselves so they can thrive.
I hope this conversation inspires you the way it inspired me, and reminds you that small acts of inclusion can create big waves of progress.
