In this video I discuss the differences between my GoPro Hero 7 and my GoPro Hero 9. I did not purchase the GoPro Hero 8 because of the new microphone set up required to make the camera work while mounted to my helmet. I decided to purchase the GoPro Hero 9 due to the front facing camera and the ability to do 5K video. I also like the slow motion (slo-mo) capabilities of the GoPro Hero 9. Keep in mind that they do not make these action cameras for motovloggers like myself. They more-so make these for actual YouTube life vloggers. Therefore, I understand why they have the GoPro set up how they do.

I wanted to make this video explaining why the latest and greatest GoPro may not be the camera for someone to buy that is wanting to get into motovlogging. The GoPro Hero 7 is easier to set up with a microphone on your helmet and is cheaper than the GoPro Hero 9. Also, they both shoot 4K 24 fps or 4K 30 fps in superview. When you put the GoPro Hero 9 into 5K it does not have the "superview" setting available--only the "wide" setting which is not ideal for motovlogging. Hopefully the Max Lens Mod can help alleviate that issue. The ability to shoot in 5K with a "superview" lens would be a game changer. Also, I am looking forward to what third party companies come out with as far as detachable lenses once they have a bit more experience with the camera.
