Why is the RECYCLED Nike Mercurial Vapor Next Nature SO EXPENSIVE?

Football boots made from recycled materials is nothing new. Recycled materials in general being a trend, not just in football boots, but across all kinds of products in the sportswear industry. Nike's latest entry into the environmentally friendly category being the Mercurial Vapor Next Nature. According to Nike, every element of the boots is made from at least 50% recycled content by weight, and promises to be a glimpse of the future for Nike football. Here's the the thing, they're $300. Is that right? Should we as consumers be paying more for products that utilize recycled materials? Is this the case with other boots following the renewable concept? I share some examples and observations on this topic, and hopefully spark some conversation on whether or not the high price tag is at all justified. What do you think?
