▶ The year is 1999, after the monumental success of the Soul / Hex (Soul Solution / Hex Hector) anthem remix of Toni Braxton's "Unbreak My Heart", record companies were eager to commission remixes for then up and coming (Deborah Cox, Tamia, Terry Dexter, Debelah Morgan, Angie Stone) R&B artists, while established divas (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Jody Watley, Gloria Estefan, Cyndi Lauper) were enjoying varying degrees of career revivals due to their popularity in the clubs.
