وهاجت شجوني و عم الظلام

وأضنت بأرجاء قلبي السموم
And poisons pervaded the chambers of my heart

هرعت إلي رب هذا الوجود
I hastened to the lord of this existence

لأشكو جروحي ومر الهموم
To lament my wounds and the bitterness of my sorrows

وأبدا صلاتي بصوت النحيب
I begin my prayers with the sound of weeping

فيذرف دمعي بحب كتوم
So my tears flow with a silent love

وأركع أحكي قدوم الضباب
And I kneel, recounting the arrival of the fog

على القلب والحزن حولي يحوم
Upon my heart while sorrow encircles me

أناجي فيسمع مناجاتي ربي
I plead, and my lord hears my supplications

وأشدو فيهتز قلبي الرؤوم
And I sing, so my tender heart trembles

فتشدو بروحي ترانيم وجد
And so my soul sings tunes of longing

وأشعر أني وطأت النجوم
And I feel as if I'm treading the stars

وأسجد وفي مقلتي حنين
And I prostrate with longing in my eyes

إلي الله والشوق يكوي الكلوم
Towards Allah, and the longing burns my wounds

فأدعو دعاءاً من القلب يحوي
So, I make a heartfelt prayer, containing

خضوعاً وعشقاً فيجلي الغموم
Submission and ardent love, dispelling the gloom

كم من دعاء أصاب المعالي
How many prayers have reached the highest heavens

وكم من دعاء أزال التخوم
And how many prayers have removed boundaries

أخي مهما ضاقت عليك الليالي
My brother, no matter how much the nights have tightened around you

صلاة من القلب تمحي الغيوم
