Описание: Pakistan's first Hangor-class submarine, PNS Hangor, has arrived at its home port in Karachi. It is the first of eight advanced submarines set to join the Pakistan Navy by 2028. Four of these submarines will be built in China, while the remaining four will be constructed in Pakistan.

Derived from the Chinese Type-39A submarine, the Hangor-class features Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology, allowing it to remain submerged for extended periods without surfacing to recharge batteries. This significantly reduces the risk of detection by aircraft, UAVs, and surface vessels.

With the induction of eight Hangor-class submarines, Pakistan's submarine fleet will expand from five to thirteen vessels, marking a major enhancement in both capability and numbers. The move could have significant implications for the strategic balance in the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and the wider Indian Ocean Region
