Mayor Andy Burnham says rioters will be 'relentlessly pursued' as he aimed to reassure those left fearful after recent protests.
Andy Burnham has said "we must not let rioters prevail" and revealed that four further arrests have been made following protests over the weekend, taking the number to 23.
“GMP will pursue every legal means to prevent a repeat,” he said. “I will personally ensure GMP will have the resources to keep you safe”
He added that criminals involved will “face every possible consequence."
“There will have been hundreds of thousands of people going to work looking over their shoulder. We must not let rioters prevail", he added.
