The Parliament Acts

Описание: Discussion of the Parliament Act 1911 and the Parliament Act 1949. These two Acts fundamentally re-shaped the United Kingdom, by reducing the powers of the House of Lords in legislation to a one-year delaying power. The validity of the second of these Acts, The Parliament Act 1949 was challenged in Jackson v Attorney General [2005] UKHL 56, which is covered in this video.
