Let's see how to set up the addon domain in cPanel. This addon domain cpanel guide helps you to know how to add addon domain in cPanel.
An addon domain is a separate domain that is hosted on your primary domain but it appears as if it is hosted on its own account.
If you were to addon "newdomain.com", a user browsing to your site will see "newdomain.com" in the URL, but it will be redirecting it to a specific folder under your primary domain.
An addon domain is working the same as that of the main domain. It is a fully functional domain name that is created from the main domains cPanel. Think of it as having cPanel addon domain subdomain & multiple hosting packages all sharing the same control panel. You can create cPanel addon domain email addresses, forwarders and more — the same way you do for your primary domain on the account.
Firstly please ensure that the name servers are pointing to the nameservers of DomainRacer.com welcome email sent while you made the signup. Addon domain name creates a subdomain.

To add a new domain to your existing hosting account:
================================================
Log into your cPanel control panel
Locate the Domains category on the cPanel main page.
Click Addon Domains icon
Enter the domain name
Enter an FTP username for the addon
Keep or change the root directory for the domain.
Create a password for the domain's FTP account.
Click on Add Domain to add another domain.
Once added and DNS propagated (this can take up to 24 hours), the domain will function without issue. Once you've added the domain, you can select the "Redirects" option in cPanel if you want to simply point the new domain at another.
Whenever you create another domain or add a new domain in the cPanel interface, the system by default creates a subdomain. To change or delete the subdomain after you create it, you may change or delete the information that the addon domain's website displays in cpanel.
Also, when you create a second domain, parked domain, subdomain, or main domain, the system will attempt by default secure that domain with the best-available existing SSL certificate. If no certificate available, then the system will generate a self-signed security certificate to secure the new domain.
