Описание: Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick introduced the African Diaspora Investment and Development Act (AIDA) aimed to harness the economic power of the African and Caribbean diaspora communities to advance sustainable development, reduce remittance costs, and align U.S. foreign policy with grassroots investment. The Center for African Studies at Howard University is pleased to engage with a number of stakeholders to host a roundtable discussion on the challenges and opportunities presented by AIDA. The event provides an opportunity to inform the wider diaspora community on the legislation, and to talk through concrete strategies to elevate the role of the African diaspora in supporting sustainable development on the continent.
