Ba mhór an rath ar an aonach gairme i gCaisleán Uidhilín chun tús a chur le Seachtain na Gaeilge! D’eagraigh an Chomhairle an imeacht i gcomhar le hArdscoil Naomh Maolmhaodhóg agus bhí ionadaithe ann ó réimse leathan eagraíochtaí in earnáil na Gaeilge.

Bhí Leas-Chathaoirleach na Comhairle, An Comhairleoir David Lee-Surginor i láthair chun bualadh leis na daltaí agus na haíonna speisialta éagsúla – Uachtarán Chonradh na Gaeilge, Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin ina measc.

Míle buíochas leis na heagraíochtaí ar fad a shocraigh seastáin eolais agus thug aoichainteanna spreagúla do na daltaí scoile faoi dheiseanna fostaíochta sa Ghaeilge. Ná déanaimis dearmad go dtugann an dara teanga ‘deis sa bhreis’ duit!

A very successful careers fair in Castlewellan to kick off Seachtain na Gaeilge! The Council organised the event in conjunction with St Malachy’s High School and was attended by representatives from a wide range of organisations in the Irish language sector.

Council Deputy Chairperson, Councillor David Lee-Surginor came to the event to meet the pupils and the various special guests – including the new President of the Gaelic League, Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin!

Many thanks to all the organisations who set up information stands and gave inspiring talks to the school students about employment opportunities in Irish. Let’s not forget that a second language gives you a ‘deis sa bhreis’ - an extra opportunity!
