Описание: In this video, we are going to show you Takotsubo cardiomyopathy which is also known as the Stress cardiomyopathy or the Broken heart syndrome.


Takotsubo or broken heart syndrome is an interesting phenomenon. takotsubo cardiomyopathy develops in patients who are under a lot of stress. The takotsubo cardiomyopathy echo shows dilated apex of the left ventricle which gives it the name apical balloon syndrome. The takotsubo cardiomyopathy angiogram is found to be normal which excludes the acute myocardial infarction. The takotsubo cardiomyopathy or stress cardiomyopathy can be encountered in the Emergency Departments and Urgent Care settings. This is also called the broken heart syndrome as it is associated with negative stress such as death of some near and dear one. The pathophysiology is not very well understood. Many may wonder what is takotsubo cardiomyopathy or apical ballooning syndrome. We attempted to answer the question here. Hope you like it!
