Joel Snyder, a social studies teacher at Animo Pat Brown Charter High School, Los Angeles, tells us how his students used The Times in a "windows and mirrors" assignment. Students were to pick one article that was they saw as a "mirror" (something they saw themselves in) and one as a window (something they thought was unrelated to them) and write about it.
