Folk music from St. Louis, Missouri released by the label Community Psychological Consultants. Ruth taught at Washington University's School of medicine but was an accomplished musician and poet. Other records by this label are straightforward therapy records, self help spoken word type things. These songs come off almost as they were supposed to teach a certain communication style or type of thought to someone, but especially in modern context with therapy speak being so mainstream, it comes off as lyrics a current indie folk singer may write. I'm not familiar with her educational writing but all these songs come from a place of deep sympathy and understanding for others. A really sweet and melancholy collection. check it out.
