Описание: Hello, everyone! Welcome to my channel! Today, I’m going to take you on a journey to a rural town in Southwest China to experience its unique culture and way of life. This small town is called Sanjiang Town, located in Wangcang County, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province. Nestled among rolling mountains, it is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. However, due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, many traditional lifestyles and rural characteristics are still preserved here.
Sanjiang Town is a small town with a permanent population of less than 3,000. Most of the young people have left to work in cities, leaving behind mainly elderly residents who sustain their livelihoods by growing vegetables, raising livestock, and practicing traditional handicrafts. Although the town is usually peaceful and quiet, it comes alive on market days, which are held on even-numbered dates.
On market days, villagers from the surrounding areas bring their homegrown agricultural products to sell in the town. The market is filled with a variety of goods: fresh vegetables, fruits, homemade pickled foods, locally produced grape wine, handwoven bamboo baskets, and practical farming tools. Many elderly farmers walk several kilometers over mountain paths, carrying heavy loads of produce to the market, hoping to earn some income to support their households.
At the market, you can also witness the preparation of many traditional delicacies. For example, minced pork and vegetable fillings are stuffed into pig intestines to make sausages, a popular dish in Sichuan. You’ll also find freshly processed duck intestines, live poultry being slaughtered, and the traditional technique of scalding pig skin to remove hair—all reflecting the simplicity and authenticity of rural life.
Life here moves at a slow pace, and the streets are usually sparsely populated. However, during major holidays like the Chinese New Year, the town comes alive with activity, filled with festive cheer and the warmth of family reunions.
