Following the suspension of Sanakhemundi MLA Ramesh Jena by Odisha Congress for cross-voting in the March 16, 2026 Rajya Sabha election (along with Sofia Firdous and Dasarathi Gomango), strong protests and support have erupted from panchayat-level workers to other constituencies in Ganjam district. Local Congress leaders and grassroots workers are uniting to back Jena's decision, honoring his choice and demanding immediate revocation of the suspension.
