札幌市制100周年記念となった第73回さっぽろ雪まつりが3年ぶりに会場で開催されました。「さっぽろ雪まつり」は国内外から200万人以上が訪れる札幌の冬の一大イベントです。
大通会場では約1.5キロメートルに渡って、3万t近くの雪を集めて作られた大小さまざまな有名な建築物やキャラクターの雪氷像が立ち並びます。大雪像のプロジェクションマッピングも人気です。
すすきの会場では幻想的な氷像が並び、氷彫刻コンクールや氷像のライトアップが見られます。

The 73rd Sapporo Snow Festival
The 73rd Sapporo Snow Festival, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Sapporo's municipal organization, was held at the venue for the first time in three years. The Sapporo Snow Festival is one of Sapporo's major winter events, attracting more than 2 million visitors from Japan and abroad.
At the Odori site, snow and ice statues of famous architectures and characters of various sizes, made from nearly 30,000 tons of snow, line a 1.5-kilometer stretch of the Odori site. Projection mapping of the large snow sculptures is also popular.
At the Susukino site, fantastic ice statues are lined up, and visitors can watch the ice sculpture competition and the lighting up of the ice statues.
