A step by step guide to making a custom made, prototype printed circuit board using the hand drawn resist method. Most people only ever build a homebrew radio module or block once. And if you make the same module more than once, you usually do so to improve it. So why bother to do professionally made off-shore PCBs when you are prototyping? With the old school method you can make any kind of PCB you wish, with more or less care and patience depending on the complexity of the circuit.
WARNING: If you use Ferric Chloride, read and observe the safety instructions on the label. Always use eye protection and work in a well ventilated area. Store used FeCl3 in a heavy duty sealed plastic or glass container on a high shelf. Dispose of used FeCl3 at a chemical waste facility.
