Sara是出生在越南的華僑。民國期間中華大地軍閥割據，戰亂頻繁，百姓流離失所、生活困苦，她的祖父母為求計，乘船偷渡遠洋至越南。祖輩依靠買麵條和茶葉生存下來......安居樂業半世紀之後，越南的南北戰爭結束，越南共產黨統治南方，同時排華勢頭與日俱增。越南境內近八成的華人財產遭到沒收充公，針對華人的衝突事件更具頻繁。為了生存下去，Sara一家18口人不得不再次踏上顛沛逃亡之路。
他們和其他偷渡客一起乘上了去網馬來西亞的貨船。經過9天的風浪顛簸，九死一生。他們一家人總算安全抵達馬來西亞。在一座小島上於其他逃亡的人一起住了一年多。他們決定前往瑞士，當時瑞士政府也接受了他們。只是原來的一大家人被分散到了美洲和歐洲兩地⋯⋯本期《普通人》系列片，讓我們一起了解哪些被淹沒在歷史洪流中的信息，聽sara講述自己顛沛流離，了解她的命運多舛⋯⋯

Sara is a Chinese born in Vietnam. During the Republic of China era, China was divided by warlords, and frequent wars caused widespread displacement and hardship. Her grandparents, seeking a better life, smuggled themselves across the ocean to Vietnam. They survived by selling noodles and tea... After half a century of peaceful life, the Vietnam War ended, and the Communist Party of Vietnam came to rule the south. Meanwhile, anti-Chinese sentiment intensified. Nearly 80% of the property of Chinese in Vietnam was confiscated, and conflicts targeting Chinese became increasingly frequent. To survive, Sara and her family of 18 were forced to embark on another arduous journey of escape.
They boarded a cargo ship bound for Malaysia with other illegal immigrants. After nine days of turbulent sailing and near-death experiences, the family finally arrived safely in Malaysia. They lived on a small island with other escapees for over a year. They decided to go to Switzerland, where the Swiss government accepted them. However, the original family was scattered across the Americas and Europe… This episode of the "Ordinary People" series takes us to learn about information lost in the tides of history, listens to Sara recount her tumultuous journey, and understands her tragic fate…
