As much as I loved the massive waterfalls and the landscapes, the quiet side of Reykjavik was just as special. After spending days out in the elements, these were the cozy corners I kept going back to:

🥐 Hygge Microbakery: Quite possibly the best pastries in the city. Recommended to me by a local and I cannot thank her enough!!

📚 Bókin: A dream for true book lovers. It’s packed floor-to-ceiling with old used books and feels like stepping back in time. Easily my favorite bookstore I visited.

☕️ Wake and Bake: The perfect spot to warm up with a latte and a tasty bagel sandwich when the wind gets too crazy.

🎧 Smekkleysa: An iconic record shop/cafe with the best indie vibes. I actually discovered one of my new favorite producers here. More about that in a future post. 😉

📖 Ida Zimsen: A bookstore/cafe mix that’s great for just sitting by the window and reading or people-watching.
