Installing a tailgate assist on a 2021+ F150 - 10 minute or less install!

Описание: Tired of my tailgate slamming down I added a tailgate assist. This model is from Rough Country but many of them seem to be the same.

Tools needed:
T50 for the upper cable bolt removal and top plate install
10mm to remove a bolt from the tailgate bracket. Will reinstall with bottom bracket
T30 to remove the driver side tie down bracket.

Step 1: Lower Tailgate
Step 2: Unbox
Step 3: Remove the bolt holding in the tailgate strap (T50)
Step 4: Install the upper bracket and reinstall that bolt you just removed and strap
Step 5: Remove 10mm from tailgate bracket
Step 6: Install the lower bracket and reinstall that 10mm head bolt.
Step 7: Remove the driver side tailgate tie down bracket (T30)
Step 8: Snap on the new Rough Country tailgate assist strut
Step 9: Test
