Der rare Auftritt einer raren Band: Die Girl Beat-Band "The Liverbirds" live in der ersten Sendung des Beat Club vom 25.09.1965.
One of the very few Merseybeat-bands with female members and probably the first "girlgroup" of all time: "The Liverbirds" from, surely, Liverpool! The band took their name from the fictional creature 'Liver Bird' which is the symbol of the town of Liverpool. Like other beat bands of that time, the Liverbirds earned more success in Germany than in their native land. They were one of the top attractions of the famous 'Star Club' in Hamburg and even climbed the German charts (# 5 Diddley Daddy). After broke up in 1967 some of the members stayed permanently in Germany. Pamela Birch, singer and guitarist of the "female Beatles" , died on 27th October 2009 in Hamburg.
