HER2 in Bladder Cancer: A New Key to Personalized Treatment & Beating Recurrence
In this video, we dive deep into the role of the HER2 protein in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). Why does this common cancer often come back after treatment, and how can new research on HER2 lead to better, more personalized therapies? We break down the latest evidence linking HER2 to aggressive tumors, poor response to BCG therapy, and disease progression. Most importantly, we explore the promising new class of treatments—antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)—that are showing encouraging results even in cases with low HER2.

HER2 in Bladder Cancer: Molecular Biology, Prognostic Value, and Emerging Therapeutic Strategies
Layman Abstract :
Non-muscle invasive bladder cancer is common and often comes back after treatment. A protein called HER2 is linked to more aggressive forms of this cancer and may explain why some treatments fail. While older HER2-targeted drugs have had limited success, newer therapies show promising results. Better testing for HER2 could help doctors choose more effective, personalised treatments for high-risk patients.
